GINGIVITIS TREATMENT

Periodontal disease is the main cause of tooth loss in adult patients cases and should be treated as soon as possible.

Periodontal means around the tooth. Periodontal disease (also sometimes known as periodontitis or pyorrhoea) is an inflammatory disease that affects the supporting tissues of the teeth: ligament, bone and / or gum.

Gingivitis is usually the first step towards periodontal disease. It consists of a bacterial infection that affects the gums when the toxins contained in the bacterial plaque irritate and inflame the gums.

Redness, bleeding and a feeling of weakness in the gums when brushing teeth or when eating are usually the warning signs because the gums rarely hurt in this phase of the disease.

If you detect any of these symptoms we should treat it as soon as possible to stop the process. Dr. Bosch will recommend the most appropriate treatment depending on the type of periodontal disease and the consequences she has detected.

Remember that the key to protecting against periodontal disease is to prevent the growth of bacterial plaque. It is very important that you go to professional cleanings regularly, in addition to brushing your teeth and flossing daily.

At Excellence Dental we can help you.
